The purpose of this course is to bring your body and emotions into balance so you can melt down to your natural size quickly and easily. We will use hypnosis as well as several other homework assignments to help you change significant behaviors so ideally they will become permanent.
You say you can make certain unhealthy, fattening foods “disappear.” What does that mean?
Here at Living Lite, we do NOT believe in deprivation. If you “can’t” have something, it will hang around your brain waiting for a weak moment and then it will pounce on you. However, if your mind changes and you decide that you don’t want that food, it disappears. We will teach your brain not to want unhealthy, fattening foods—for about 2 weeks. You won’t even think about the foods you may have been addicted to. Then one day, you will remember that food and might even decide to sample it. What you will find is that it is not as good as it used to be, and you will make the decision to avoid it or eat it in moderation.
And that is an immensely powerful position to be in.
Why is it important to get insulin under control?
Insulin is a fat-storing hormone. It’s possible that calorie-restrictive diets may not help you lose weight if you have this condition. Research shows that about 37% of Americans have this disease. This percentage ballooned to over 55% during the pandemic–too much sourdough bread! There are no symptoms.
Hyperinsulinemia is when there is too much insulin in a person’s body. It is most often the result of insulin resistance. Insulin resistance can eventually lead to type 2 diabetes. The causes can be genetic, but most often it is related to food consumption and lack of body movement.
What is metabolic syndrome?
Metabolic syndrome is a clustering of at least three of the following five medical conditions:
- abdominal fat
- high blood pressure
- high blood sugar
- high serum triglycerides,
- low serum high-density lipoprotein (HDL).
Metabolic syndrome is associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. In the U.S., about 25% of the adult population has metabolic syndrome, a proportion increasing with age.
Insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and prediabetes are closely related to one another and have overlapping aspects. The syndrome is thought to be caused by an underlying disorder of energy (fat) utilization and storage. The cause of the syndrome is an area of ongoing medical research; however, weight reduction, minimizing carbohydrate intake, and increased body movement have been shown to be effective treatments.
What will be covered in the weekly classes?
15 minutes prior to the beginning of each class, Katie will be on the phone to answer any questions you may have. Please email Katie your questions beforehand so she may have time to research the answers, if necessary.
There will be a 15-minute class on a specific topic followed by 15 minutes of hypnosis.
